Reconstruction
David Moss, MD is an Orthopaedic surgeon specializing in conditions and disorders of the hand, wrist, and elbow. After graduating from Princeton University and the Medical College of Virginia, he completed his residency at top ranked NYU-Hospital for Joint Diseases, and his fellowship at the world-renowned Curtis National Hand Center in Baltimore. Dr. Moss grew up in McLean, VA.
Dr. Moss is Assistant Clinical Professor at The George Washington University Medical School, and Medical Director of Hand Surgery at Sibley Memorial Hospital. He regularly lectures and mentors Orthopaedic residents and medical students, and collaborates with trainees to conduct research and to publish peer-reviewed scholarly articles. He is former President of the Washington, DC Hand Society.
Dr. Moss currently serves as a hand and wrist consultant for the MLB Washington Nationals, as well as for the NHL Washington Capitals. He previously served as assistant team physician for the WNBA Washington Mystics, and has cared for numerous professional athletes and sports teams, including MLB New York Mets and NHL Philadelphia Flyers. Dr. Moss enjoys caring for athletes of all ages and levels, and stresses a balanced, healthy approach to sports with a focus on prevention and safety.
Dr. Moss received the John Carroll Pro Bono Health Care Award, presented at the 26th annual Rose Mass, awarded for commitment and dedication to providing charity medical and surgical care to Washington’s indigent community. He has also completed numerous medical missions, both nationally and internationally, most recently traveling to Chinle, AZ to provide medical care to the Navajo Nation. (Chinle Presentation) His prior pro bono medical work include missions to Honduras, the Dominican Republic, as well as India.
Dr. Moss is board certified by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgeons and has earned additional subspecialty qualifications from the American Society for Surgery of the Hand.
He currently lives in Maryland with his wife and three children. He enjoys the outdoors, music, and playing squash and golf.

Worked in one of Honduras’ few teaching hospitals, Hospital Escuela. I operated on some of Honduras’ most destitute citizens, and instructed and lectured the in-country doctors to provide lasting education that would endure for years to come.
