  • Excellent Orthopedist

Each time I go for appointment I am impressed with the overall professionalism in the office, from the front desk to the Medical Assistant, Meghan, to Dr Magur. Dr Magur did a difficult surgery on my right Achilles tendon eight weeks ago and I am most pleased with the result. It is healing just the way prescribed in textbooks. Dr Magur is both very competent and personable. I would recommend both him as well as WOSM.

Dr. J. Stuart Melvin, MD

  • Hip Replacement

I had two hip replacements within the past eight months. Excellent results. He is an excellent doctor and will immediately put you at ease. I got a call from his office today letting me know that he was running 10 minutes behind! I cant imagine any other doctor's office doing that. BTW he has always been very punctual.

  • Rave Review

Nine weeks ago Dr Melvin replaced my arthritic right hip. I chose him because two friends raved about his surgery on their hips and knees. Now I rave about him, too. The surgery went very smoothly. Dr Melvin got my right leg to the same length as my left one. Recovery is going well and the best part is that Dr Melvin’s medical assistant has been wonderful. In the first few weeks I emailed her two or three questions a week and she always responded well within an hour, even if just to let me know she would ask Dr Melvin about it later in the day. Every question was answered within a day. This high level of post-operative support was equaled by the extraordinary pre-operative support. Dr Melvin’s guided me through two health problems and one panic attack about the surgery that occurred in the weeks right before surgery, so I made it to the operating room on the planned date. Throughout it all he was calm, compassionate, and reassuring. Truly top notch!

  • Knowledeable and Kind

Dr. Melvin took the time to listen to my questions and made me feel much more at ease about scheduling a TKA surgery and my prospects for a good recovery and quality of life after surgery. A very knowledgeable and kind physician.

  • Great Experience

Dr. Melvin and the staff at WOSM are friendly, professional and helpful. I had a hip replacement and was well prepared for the experience. I recommend that anti nausea medication be included as part of the drug regimen and do not hesitate to use the emergency number provided for any questions or concerns you might encounter post surgery. It would be great if someone from the office called to check in 24-48 hours after the operation.Dr. Melvin is kind & patient. He answered all my questions in an unhurried manner. My recovery is going very well. I highly recommend Dr. Melvin and his practice.

  • After a serious injury on Ski patrol, I damaged a hip and tore a labrum on that hip. I saw my own doctors who scheduled an MRI, tried PRP, and sent me to the WOSM labrum doctors. All of the Drs. told me the same thing; "You need a new hip, and at 59 years of age!" The labrum Dr. introduced me to Dr. Melvin when he saw my problem was too severe to just fix in place. Dr. Melvin looked over the MRI and tested me himself, then suggested a new high tech anterior hip replacement, the newer modular design. He was outside of our insurance plan, so just for due diligence, we cross checked with hip surgeons that Aetna would cover. They couldn't take me for months, and said I really didn't have a case that needed replacement, based on the MRI. We decided to take a chance on Dr. Melvin and WOSM, with the surgery at the Bethesda surgical center. I was walking the same day of the operation, and riding my bike two weeks later. Apparently, I can even ski again after 3-4 months! But here's the clincher: Dr. Melvin looked over what came out of me and said "David, you were bone on bone, which wasn't clear on the MRI. You had no choice in this replacement, it was time." So - here's my advice. You get what you pay for. Dr. Melvin is simply better. He made the right call up front, and my suffering ended. In the end, the difference in price was smaller than I thought, if I had I stayed in the plan with Aetna. Better Drs. are worth it, having saved me months of suffering waiting on the others team - even if they did agree that I needed the surgery. I simply can't recommend Dr. Melvin strongly enough....

  • Knowledgeable and responsive

Very able medical assistant and X-ray tech. Dr. R’s repair to my complicated injury going well. And he is a very nice person as well.
    Healthgrades 920416Healthgrades

  • Efficient Practice

Everything runs smoothly and processes established for moving the path to surgery forward easily. He knows how to get things done to assure that medical needs met. Doctor shares patient story information to make you confident about his abilities but gives opportunity for questions.
    Healthgrades 920415Healthgrades

  • Dr Rudzki performed a total shoulder replacement on my right side in March 2022. I have had no problems with the shoulder. I am able perform the same tasks using my right arm as I am with the left arm.

  • Saw Dr Rudzki’s presentation at Sibley Hospital on shoulders and rotator cuffs and was impressed. Have seen him twice now and have appreciated his approach to considering PT before (and hopefully to avoid) surgery. He really seems to know his stuff.

  • Dr. Rudzki is a great surgeon, very caring and comprehensive. He replaced my right shoulder three years ago, and every thing's fine. I now go to him for periodic cortisone shots and now an NSAID-type shot for my right shoulder, to try to avoid replacement shoulder surgery on that left side.
I most highly recommend Dr. Rudzki for shoulder surgery, as he's the best.

  • First visit with Dr. Rudzki. I had a migraine going in to the visit but I couldn't put it off because the amount of pain I was in from injuring my shoulder. He was super considerate and turned the florescent lights off so I wasn't in additional pain while we talked about my injury. I'm not sure how many other doctor's would do that. Was refreshing. Still determining source of shoulder pain, but 5 stars for office manners!

  • So far, Dr. Rudzki has paid attention to the details, tried to use physical therapy for me to avoid surgery, and he listens carefully. Surgery now is scheduled for next week, so the future will tell; but I feel I'm in good hands.
